Having resolved at the AEC meeting of 20 Nov 2024 that “the election shall take place between Sunday morning and Thursday evening of an appropriate week without any festivals”, the AEC voted to set the dates for the UK elections to the World Zionist Congress as 8 - 12 June 2025.
As has been the case previously in the UK, only organisations that are members in good
standing either of the Mizrachi Federation or the Zionist Federation UK are eligible to run lists for election. All outstanding payments must be received no later than two months before the election. New organisations wishing to join one of the federations must have applied for membership no later than 28 Feb 2025.
With the aim of adhering as closely as possible to the election process of the Knesset, the election will be run on a proportional list system in which each elector votes once for a slate of candidates agreed by those organisations eligible to put forward candidates. Slates will need to agree before the election to which other slate any surplus votes will be transferred to.
